Which wading boots suit your riverbed?
Fishing wading boots go on over the neoprene socks of your waders and decide whether your footing in the current is secure. - •When you want dry feet without waders: these boots are not watertight, water flows in and out through the holes. For dry feet choose rubber boots.
- •Wearing them with a thin sock: the boots are made for a neoprene sock, so without one they will be too loose.
- •A felt sole is not the best choice for a muddy bank and wet grass: a rubber sole is more reliable there.
Frequently asked questions
Why are my boots still heavy after fishing?
The boots are not watertight: water flows in and drains out through the drainage holes when you step onto the bank. The wet insole and fabric hold moisture for a while longer, so dry the boots separately from your waders.
How does PROGUIDE 5189 differ from DELTA 5242?
PROGUIDE 5189 has a Vibram sole, a CORDURA upper and ordinary adjustable laces. DELTA 5242 has a Michelin sole and an Atop dial closure that tightens the boot in one movement.
What is the ring at the front of a wading boot for?
You attach the wader hook to it so the bottom of the waders does not ride up while wading in the current. SPORTSMAN 5199, WADEMAN 5203, PROGUIDE 5189 and DELTA 5242 have this ring.
Which wading boots are easiest to put on by the water?
DELTA 5242 with the Atop dial closure: it tightens and releases the boot in one movement, without laces. Most other models have a heel loop that makes it easy to pull the boot over the neoprene sock.
Are wading boots suitable for fishing from a boat?
Usually not. Water on the boat floor gets into the boot through the holes, and without waders your sock gets wet too. For a boat, rubber boots without drainage are more comfortable.
