Which UV neck gaiter should you choose?
Finntrail UV neck protection is light, stretchy face and neck gaiters in UPF 50 fabric that cover the back of your neck, your neck and your face from sun, wind and insects. The range has two models: gaiter 9803 with an antibacterial finish and WAVE 9805 with silicone inserts and breathing holes. If your gaiter often slips down, choose WAVE 9805.

How to choose
Both gaiters have UPF 50, an insect repellent finish and flat seams. They differ in how they stay in place on your face.

- •Cold weather. Thin UPF fabric is made for summer and does not keep you warm.
- •Your eyes. The gaiter covers your face up to the eyes but does not protect them: for ATV riding choose goggles with a strap.
- •Your arms and back. The gaiter only protects your face and neck; the rest of your skin needs a long-sleeved UV T-shirt.
Frequently asked questions
How do I wear a UV neck gaiter?
You can wear it as neck protection, pull it up over your face as a mask or wear it as a head covering. The stretchy material stays put in every position and does not restrict movement, so you can change the position during the day to suit the sun and wind.
Is it hard to breathe in the gaiter?
No. The material of both gaiters is light and breathable, wicks sweat and dries quickly, and WAVE 9805 also has laser-cut breathing holes that improve airflow at your face.
What size is the UV neck gaiter?
Both gaiters are one size. The stretchy material hugs your face and neck, so there is no size to choose, and the silicone inserts of WAVE 9805 also stop the gaiter from slipping.
Does the gaiter start to smell after a long day?
The antibacterial finish of gaiter 9803 reduces odours, so it stays fresh all day. No such finish is stated in the WAVE 9805 description, so after a hot day it is worth washing it more often.
