    Finntrail · Wading boots

Finntrail SPORTSMAN Graphite 5199 Wading Boots

Wading boots with a felt sole that grips best where rubber slips: on slippery, wet rocks and the riverbed. The felt sole delivers reliable grip while wading, the reinforced rubber upper withstands sharp rocks, and the high shaft stabilises the ankle. Any water that gets inside drains out through the drainage holes, so the boot doesn’t get heavier.

    Who it is for

Made for the angler in waders who needs reliable grip on a slippery riverbed and ankle protection on wet, rocky terrain.

    • Wading in the water with waders, when you need a firm step on slippery rocks.
    • Fishing in rivers and lakes where the bottom is slippery and uneven.
    • The active outdoors in wet, rocky and muddy conditions.
    • For those looking for durable and stable boots for demanding use.

    When it shines

It performs best while wading and on slippery, wet rocks and the riverbed. The felt sole holds where rubber slips, and the drainage keeps water from pooling inside.

    Materials & technology

    Felt sole

Felt grips best on slippery, wet rocks and the riverbed, where rubber slips. The classic wading solution, ideal for moving through water and over algae-covered rocks.

    Reinforced rubber upper

The rubber upper is reinforced and resistant to sharp rocks, so the boot protects your foot and lasts longer under intensive use.

    Drainage system

Holes at the bottom of the shaft let out water that has got inside. Just press your foot down and the water drains away, so the boot doesn’t get heavier and dries faster.

    High shaft and reinforced construction

The high construction stabilises the ankle and reduces the risk of sprains, while the reinforced construction withstands intensive use.

    Dense insole

A dense, comfortable insole provides comfort and lets you move comfortably for a long time. A D-ring at the front lets you attach the wader hook, and the heel loop makes putting the boots on easier.

How it differs from ordinary rubber boots for wading

    Ordinary rubber boots for wading

    • Rubber sole slips on wet rocks
    • Low shaft, ankle without support
    • Water stays inside, the boot gets heavier
    • Weaker upper that wears through quickly

    Finntrail SPORTSMAN

    • Felt sole grips best on slippery, wet rocks
    • High shaft supports the ankle and reduces injury risk
    • Drainage holes: the water drains away on its own, the boot stays light
    • Reinforced rubber upper resistant to sharp rocks

    Care

After use, rinse off mud with clean water, especially the felt sole and the drainage holes. Dry naturally with the shaft open, not on a radiator or in the sun: high heat damages the glue and the construction. If they get damp inside, pull out the insoles and dry them separately. Store in a dry, well-ventilated place.

    Frequently asked questions

    Are these boots waterproof?

These are wading boots used with waders, not waterproof boots. Your foot is kept dry by the neoprene sock of the waders, while the boot provides grip and protection. The boot has drainage holes, so any water that gets inside drains out.

Why is a felt sole better?

Felt grips best on slippery, wet rocks and the riverbed, where rubber slips. It is the classic wading solution, ideal for moving through water and over algae-covered rocks, where a firm step matters most.

Can I wear them without waders?

Yes, you can also wear the boots on their own for the active outdoors. Just remember the upper is not sealed: when wading deeper, water will get inside and drain out through the drainage.

What size should I choose if I wear them with waders?

Wading boots are worn over the neoprene sock of the waders, and their sizing is already adjusted for being worn with a 4 mm neoprene sock, so choose your usual size. If you are not sure, message us and we will help you pick.

Do the boots handle heavy use?

Yes. The rubber upper is reinforced and resistant to sharp rocks, the construction is reinforced for intensive use, and the dense, comfortable insole lets you move comfortably for a long time.
