EVA midsole reduces fatigue
While wading, the foot stands on hard stones for hours. The EVA layer absorbs impact, so the foot tires more slowly.

Who it is not for
Wading Boots Finntrail WADEMAN 5202 are not everyday or hiking boots. Felt wears down quickly on asphalt and concrete, and it grips worse than rubber on mud, grass, snow and ice. These boots are not waterproof on their own: they go over the neoprene stocking of your waders, not instead of it. Before travelling abroad, check local rules, because felt soles are restricted in some countries to limit the spread of invasive species.

After a trip rinse the mud off with clean water, especially the tread and the seams. Once dry, spray the boots with an impregnator (Mountval Protector) so water beads off again. Dry at room temperature or in a boot dryer on low, not near a radiator: heat damages the membrane and the glue. Odour inside is handled by a spray (Mountval Odour Absorber).

On wet, mossy stones felt grips better because it hugs the surface. On mud, grass and snow a rubber sole is the better choice.
Should I order a larger size?
The boots go over the neoprene stocking of your waders, so take one size up from your normal shoes. If in doubt, write to us with your foot length in centimetres.
Can I wear them without waders?
No. Wading Boots Finntrail WADEMAN 5202 have no sealed inner layer, so they are worn with waders only.
How long does the felt last?
It depends on how much you walk on land. In the water felt lasts a long time, but walking on asphalt or a stony bank wears it down quickly.

Measure Your Foot Length
Measure the length of your foot from the heel to the tip of your longest toe. It is recommended to take measurements in the evening, when feet are naturally slightly larger after daily activity.
How to measure: stand on a sheet of paper, mark the position of your heel and longest toe, then measure the distance between these points in centimeters.If one foot is slightly longer than the other, always use the measurement of the longer foot.

Wading boots are not ordinary everyday footwear. They are designed to be worn together with waders that feature neoprene stockingfeet. Therefore, the boot must provide sufficient space for both the neoprene stockingfoot and a medium-thickness sock.
Important: FINNTRAIL wading boots are already designed to account for the thickness of neoprene stockingfeet. There is no need to order a larger size than indicated by your actual foot length.Oversizing excessively may reduce foot support, decrease stability, and increase friction during walking.
When Should You Choose a Larger Size?
A larger size may be appropriate only in certain situations.
- If your foot length falls between two sizes.

Cleaning After Use
After every fishing trip, rinse the boots with clean water to remove mud, sand and small stones that may damage the material or seams.
If the boots were used in saltwater or extremely muddy conditions, rinse them thoroughly.
Washing the Boots
If the boots are heavily soiled, clean them by hand using water and a soft brush. Machine washing is not recommended.
