Finntrail SPEEDMASTER Graphite 5204 Wading Boots
Wading boots with a "mud-free" outsole that grips firmly and keeps mud from building up, while water drains out on its own. The rubber "mud-free" tread bites into rocks and mud, the high, heel-extended shaft adds support, and the neoprene inserts add comfort: reliable grip and stability when fishing in waders, while water drains out through the drainage holes.
Who it is for
Made for the angler in waders and the active outdoors user who needs firm grip and ankle support on wet, slippery terrain.
- •Fishing in waders, when you need a stable step in the water and on rocks.
- •ATV and off-road, where a sturdy, durable boot is needed.
- •Active outdoor leisure in wet and muddy conditions.
- •For those looking for durable and stable boots for demanding use.
When it shines
It performs best while wading and on slippery, uneven terrain: rocks, mud, silt. The rubber "mud-free" outsole holds where an ordinary boot slips and keeps mud from building up, while the drainage keeps water from pooling inside.
Technical specs
Materials & technology
Rubber "mud-free" outsole
A sturdy rubber outsole with a "mud-free" tread keeps mud and dirt from building up, so grip stays reliable even in silt and on wet rocks. The sole provides stability where an ordinary boot slips.
Neoprene inserts
Internal neoprene inserts add softness and comfort, gently cradling the foot and reducing pressure during long wear.
Reinforced toe protection
A reinforced toe bumper protects the foot from impacts against rocks and obstacles off-road.
High and extended shaft
A high shaft with an extended heel section adds support for the ankle and heel, so your step stays firm on uneven terrain.
Drainage system
Drainage holes let out water that has got inside. Just press your foot down and the water drains away, so the boot doesn’t get heavier and dries faster.
How it differs from ordinary rubber or hiking boots
Care
After use, rinse off mud with clean water, especially the "mud-free" tread and the drainage holes. Dry naturally with the shaft open, not on a radiator or in the sun: high heat damages the glue. If they get damp inside, pull out the insoles and dry them separately. Store in a dry, well-ventilated place.
Frequently asked questions
Are these boots waterproof?
These are wading boots used with waders, not waterproof boots. Your foot is kept dry by the neoprene sock of the waders, while the boot provides grip and protection. The boot has drainage holes, so any water that gets inside drains out.
Can I wear them without waders?
Yes, you can also wear the boots on their own for the active outdoors or off-road. Just remember the upper is not sealed: when wading deeper, water will get inside and drain out through the drainage.
What size should I choose if I wear them with waders?
Wading boots are worn over the neoprene sock of the waders, and their sizing is already adjusted for being worn with a 4 mm neoprene sock, so choose your usual size. If you are not sure, message us and we will help you pick.
How does the "mud-free" outsole work and why doesn't mud build up?
The rubber outsole has a "mud-free" tread: its shape and deep pattern keep mud and dirt from getting stuck between the lugs. The mud falls away on its own, so grip and stability stay reliable even in silt and on wet rocks.
Do the boots handle heavy use?
Yes. The upper is made of synthetic leather and reinforced fabric, the toe protection is reinforced against impacts and abrasion, and the neoprene inserts gently cradle the foot and add comfort during long use.

How to Choose the Correct FINNTRAIL Men's Footwear Size
Choosing the correct footwear size is important not only for comfort but also for safety. Boots that are too small may compress the foot, restrict circulation, and cause discomfort, while oversized footwear may reduce stability, create friction, and make walking in water or mud more difficult.
FINNTRAIL wading boots are designed to accommodate both the neoprene stockingfoot of waders and a medium-thickness sock. Therefore, sizing should be selected according to your actual foot length in centimeters, rather than your everyday shoe size.
Measure Your Foot Length
Measure the length of your foot from the heel to the tip of your longest toe. It is recommended to take measurements in the evening, when feet are naturally slightly larger after daily activity.
How to measure: stand on a sheet of paper, mark the position of your heel and longest toe, then measure the distance between these points in centimeters. If one foot is slightly longer than the other, always use the measurement of the longer foot.
Select Your Size Using the Chart
Compare your measured foot length with the FINNTRAIL size chart. For example, if your foot length is 28 cm, the recommended size is 43 (10).
EU / US Size Foot Length, cm 38 (5) 23 39 (6) 24 40 (7) 25 41 (8) 26 42 (9) 27 43 (10) 28 44 (11) 29 45 (12) 30 46 (13) 31 47 (14) 32 Why Are FINNTRAIL Wading Boots Sized Differently?
Wading boots are not ordinary everyday footwear. They are designed to be worn together with waders that feature neoprene stockingfeet. Therefore, the boot must provide sufficient space for both the neoprene stockingfoot and a medium-thickness sock.
Important: FINNTRAIL wading boots are already designed to account for the thickness of neoprene stockingfeet. There is no need to order a larger size than indicated by your actual foot length.Oversizing excessively may reduce foot support, decrease stability, and increase friction during walking.
When Should You Choose a Larger Size?
A larger size may be appropriate only in certain situations.
- If your foot length falls between two sizes.
- If you have particularly wide feet.
- If you plan to wear thicker thermal socks in cold weather.
- If the boots will be used for long-distance walking and additional room is preferred.
Recommendation: if you are between two sizes, it is generally better to choose the larger option, but avoid sizing up more than necessary.Note About Wet Wading Shoes
Wet wading shoes may fit approximately 1.5 sizes larger than standard footwear. When selecting this type of footwear, always consider the specific model and intended use.
Note: this recommendation applies specifically to wet wading shoes. Standard FINNTRAIL wading boots should be selected according to the foot length chart above.Recommendation Before Ordering
Before placing your order, measure your foot length in centimeters and compare it with the size chart. If you will be wearing the boots with waders, wet wading socks, or thermal socks, consider the complete layering system when choosing your size.
Best results: provide your foot length in centimeters and specify whether the boots will be worn with waders, wet wading socks, or thicker thermal socks.Summary
To choose the correct FINNTRAIL men's footwear size, the most important measurement is your foot length in centimeters. FINNTRAIL wading boots are already designed to accommodate neoprene stockingfeet, so there is no need to increase your size unnecessarily. If your measurement falls between two sizes or you have wider feet, choosing the larger size may provide a better fit.
Wading Boots Care
Wading boots are constantly exposed to moisture, sand, mud and abrasion from rocks. Proper care helps maintain their durability, grip and comfort.
Cleaning After Use
After every fishing trip, rinse the boots with clean water to remove mud, sand and small stones that may damage the material or seams.
If the boots were used in saltwater or extremely muddy conditions, rinse them thoroughly.
Washing the Boots
If the boots are heavily soiled, clean them by hand using water and a soft brush. Machine washing is not recommended.
If necessary, use specialized cleaning products designed for technical outdoor footwear.
Proper Drying
After washing or use, allow the boots to dry naturally at room temperature with the insoles removed.
Avoid drying them on radiators or using hot air heaters.
Regular Care
Regular cleaning and proper drying help maintain grip on slippery rocks, stability in water and comfort during long fishing trips.

Membrane waterproofing and breathability
Membrane fabric is usually described using two numbers, often separated by a slash: waterproofness and breathability. The first number indicates waterproofness, the second indicates breathability.
?Waterproofing
This is a sliding scale measured in mm that shows how high a column of water you can suspend over the membrane before it starts to let moisture through.
Waterproof Rating Conditions 0–10,000 mm Light rain, dry snow, light pressure. 11,000–15,000 mm Moderate rain, average snow, light pressure. 16,000–20,000 mm Heavy rain, wet snow, some pressure. 20,000 mm+ Heavy rain, wet snow, high pressure. ?Breathability
This is the amount of moisture by weight that can pass through one square metre of fabric over a period of 24 hours. It is commonly measured in g/m²/24 hrs.
Breathability Rating Level of Breathability 0–5,000 g/m²/24 hrs Low – light exercise. 5,000–15,000 g/m²/24 hrs Medium – medium to high energy activity. 15,000 g/m²/24 hrs+ High – vigorous sustained activity.
