Which suit should you choose: rain or warm?
Finntrail suits are a membrane jacket and trousers or a one-piece overall for ATV riding, snowmobiling and fishing. The range has two groups: uninsulated rain suits for the warmer season, and warm suits and overalls for winter. If you ride or fish from spring to late autumn, a rain suit with a thermal layer underneath suits most people best.

How to choose
First decide whether the suit needs to keep you warm. A rain suit protects from water and wind, and the warmth comes from the layers underneath. A warm suit already has insulation and is made for long periods in the cold.

- •Wading in a river. A suit protects from rain and mud, while for standing in water there are waders.
- •Intense exercise in an insulated suit. When climbing or running the insulation will be too warm and sweat will build up; choose a rain suit or an uninsulated overall instead.
- •Work near open fire or welding. Membrane fabric is not spark resistant.
Frequently asked questions
Can a rain suit be worn in winter?
Yes, if you move actively and wear a thermal and an insulating layer underneath. For long hours on the ice or snowmobiling in the cold a warm suit is more comfortable, because its insulation holds warmth even when you are not moving.
Suit or overall: what is the difference?
A suit is a jacket with trousers or bib trousers, so you can take off the top when you stop. A one-piece overall has no gap at the waist, so it is harder for snow and water to get inside when you ride or fall.
How do I choose a suit size?
Measure your height, chest and waist and compare them with the Finntrail size guide. Measure yourself wearing the layers you will have under the suit. If the size is wrong, you can return or exchange the suit within 30 days.
Why does the suit’s surface start to wet out after a while?
Usually it is the water repellent DWR coating that wears off, not the membrane: the fabric surface absorbs water and looks wet. Wash the suit without fabric softener and renew the coating with an impregnation spray from the care and repair products section.
