What should you wear for ATV or buggy riding?
Finntrail OFFROAD clothing is made for riding off-road on an ATV, buggy or SxS. The range has four groups: membrane rain suits, softshell clothing, the light GUARD line against dust and wind, and jerseys for hot days. For riding in autumn rain and mud, the RIDER rain suit, worn over your normal clothes, is usually the best choice.

Who it is for
- •ATV riders who ride in the rain and through mud: the RIDER suit and overall are worn straight over normal clothing or body armour.
- •Buggy and SxS riders on dry, dusty trails: the GUARD line with Teflon coating and RIPSTOP fabric protects from dust, sand and wind.
- •Riders for whom freedom of movement at the handlebars matters most: the ENDURO jacket and trousers and the STIG overall are stretchy and reinforced with RIPSTOP fabric.
- •Hot days: long-sleeved JERSEY tops cover your arms from mud and dust, and JERSEY 6600 has UPF 50 sun protection.
How to choose
First decide what you most need protection from: rain, wind and spray, or dust. The second question is the cut: two pieces are easier to combine, while a one-piece overall has no gap at the waist.

- •Long, heavy rain in softshell or GUARD clothing. Softshell is not waterproof, and Teflon coating is not a membrane. Then choose RIDER or rain suits.
- •Fords where you have to stand or wade in water. That is what waders are for.
- •Winter without an extra layer. There is no insulation in this group, so wear thermal clothing underneath.
- •Replacing body armour. RIDER is worn over armour but does not replace it, and the knee pads in ENDURO 4610 are foam inserts.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between RIDER 3475 and RIDER 2508?
The Finntrail RIDER 3475 rain suit is two-piece, while RIDER 2508 is a one-piece overall. Both have a 2.5-layer HARD-TEX membrane with DWR coating and RIPSTOP fabric and are worn over normal clothing.
Does GUARD clothing protect from rain?
Only from spray. The GUARD 4078 jacket, 4611 trousers and 2507 overall have a Teflon coating that repels water and mud, but no membrane. For a rainy day choose the RIDER suit or overall.
Do ENDURO trousers have knee protection?
Yes, Finntrail ENDURO 4610 trousers have removable foam pads at the knees and RIPSTOP reinforcements at the knees, seat and calves. The leg hems can be adjusted to your boots, and the waist is adjustable.
What should I wear under body armour on a hot day?
Choose long-sleeved JERSEY tops: they are worn over body armour or as a single layer and keep sweat from building up. JERSEY 6600 also has UPF 50, while ATOM 1226 and GRAVITON 1227 are lighter, with an anatomical cut.
What size rain suit should I take?
Take a size that fits over the clothing or body armour you ride in, because RIDER is worn on top. Check the measurements against the size guide, and if the size is wrong you can return it within 30 days.
