    Finntrail · Wading boots

Finntrail GREENWOOD Grey 5223 Wading Boots

Wading boots that grip firmly on slippery rocks and mud, while water drains out on its own. A rubber outsole with reliable grip, rubber toe and heel protection and a high shaft for the ankle: stability when fishing in waders or moving off-road, while water drains out through the side drainage holes.

    Who it is for

Made for the angler in waders and the active outdoors user who needs firm grip and ankle protection on wet, slippery terrain.

    • Fishing in waders, when you need a stable step in the water and on rocks.
    • ATV and off-road, where a sturdy, durable boot is needed.
    • Active outdoor leisure in wet and muddy conditions.
    • For those looking for durable and stable boots for demanding use.

    When it shines

It performs best while wading and on slippery, uneven terrain: rocks, mud, silt. The rubber outsole holds where an ordinary boot slips, and the drainage keeps water from pooling inside.

    Materials & technology

    Rubber outsole

The rubber outsole provides stability and grip in a range of outdoor conditions: it holds on mud, silt and wet rocks where an ordinary sole slips.

    Rubber toe and heel protection

A reinforced construction with extra rubber coating at the toe and heel protects the foot from injury in demanding situations.

    High shaft

The high construction provides ankle stability and support, reducing the risk of sprains on uneven terrain.

    Special insoles

The insoles absorb shocks better and provide comfort all day, reducing the load on the foot.

    Drainage system

Side drainage holes quickly remove water that has got inside, so the boot dries faster. The heel loop makes putting the boot on easier, and the nylon laces ensure a reliable fit.

How it differs from ordinary rubber or hiking boots

    Ordinary boots for wading

    • Slippery sole on wet rocks
    • Low shaft, ankle without support
    • Water stays inside, the boot gets heavier
    • Unprotected toe and heel

    Finntrail GREENWOOD

    • Rubber outsole for stability and grip
    • Rubber toe and heel protection against impacts
    • High shaft locks in the ankle and provides support
    • Side drainage holes for quick water removal

    Care

After use, rinse off mud with clean water, especially the sole and the drainage holes. Dry naturally with the shaft open, not on a radiator or in the sun: high heat damages the glue and the sole. If they get damp inside, pull out the insoles and dry them separately. Store in a dry, well-ventilated place.

    Frequently asked questions

    Are these boots waterproof?

These are wading boots used with waders, not waterproof boots. Your foot is kept dry by the neoprene sock of the waders, while the boot provides grip and protection. The boot has drainage holes, so any water that gets inside drains out.

Can I wear them without waders?

Yes, you can also wear the boots on their own for the active outdoors or off-road. Just remember the upper is not sealed: when wading deeper, water will get inside and drain out through the drainage.

What size should I choose if I wear them with waders?

Wading boots are worn over the neoprene sock of the waders, and their sizing is already adjusted for being worn with a 4 mm neoprene sock, so choose your usual size. If you are not sure, message us and we will help you pick.

Does the sole grip well on wet rocks?

Yes. The rubber outsole provides reliable grip on mud, rocks and mixed terrain, while the high shaft stabilises the ankle so your step stays firm.

Do the boots handle heavy use?

Yes. The upper is made of tough, durable material, and the toe and heel zones are reinforced with rubber protection against impacts and abrasion. Special insoles absorb shocks and make long use easier.
