Which rain suit should you wear when riding a quad?
Rain suits for quad riding keep out both rain from above and mud spray from the wheels, so a trip without fords ends dry. Here you will find two-piece suits, a one-piece overall, rain trousers, bib trousers with braces and separate jackets. RIDER 3475, or bib trousers with a jacket, suit most quad riders, because no gap opens at your back when you sit in the saddle.

Who they are for
- •Riding in the rain without fords: the membrane with taped seams keeps water out and lets sweat vapour escape over several hours in the saddle.
- •When mud flies from the front wheels: TOURNAMENT 4604, EXCALIBUR 4616 and EXPERT 4602 have reinforced areas at the bottom.
- •Wearing over what you ride in: RIDER 3475 and the one-piece RIDER 2508 go on even over protectors.
- •A spare on the rack: the light OUTDOOR and LIGHTSUIT jackets and trousers pack small and wait in the bag until the downpour.
How to choose
First decide on the form: two pieces, a one-piece overall, or bib trousers with a separate jacket. Then the membrane: 2.5-layer is lighter, while THOR, EXPERT, EXCALIBUR and TOURNAMENT have a 4-layer one that is more durable against mud and abrasion.

- •Fords. Rain trousers and bib trousers end at your boots, so when you stand in water it will get in; waders are made for that.
- •Cold weather with nothing underneath. The suits are not insulated, so you need thermal layers under them.
- •A long downpour in SKYLIGHT 1301. This jacket has no membrane, and only a DWR C6 coating repels water, so it is made for wind and short showers.
Frequently asked questions
Bib trousers or trousers: which is better on a quad?
When you sit in the saddle, the trouser waist slips down and the jacket rides up, so a gap can open at your back. Bib trousers with braces, such as EXCALIBUR 4616 or TOURNAMENT 4604, cover both your waist and lower chest.
Does a RIDER suit fit over a warm jacket?
It does, if you choose the size for what you will wear underneath. Both RIDER models are designed to go on top, so try them on with the thickest layer you will ride in.
Does mud damage the membrane?
Mud itself does not damage the membrane, but when it stays on the fabric it stops the fabric from breathing. After a muddy trip, wash the suit with a detergent for membrane clothing, and refresh the water repellent DWR coating with a proofing spray from time to time.
Why does a rain suit get wet on the inside while riding?
Most often it is sweat that the membrane cannot release in time when there are too many layers or cotton underneath. Wear a synthetic or merino base layer, and when you move a lot choose EXCALIBUR 4616 or 4032, which breathe at 10,000 g/m²/24h.
Do the rain suits have reflectors?
Most do: OUTDOOR 1309 and 1310 have 3M reflectors, while EXPERT, EXCALIBUR, TOURNAMENT and LIGHTSUIT 3504 have reflective elements. On forest tracks at dusk this helps others see you.
