What should women wear for fishing, ATV riding and winter?
Finntrail women’s clothing means models cut to a women’s pattern rather than scaled down from men’s: RACHEL waders and wading jacket for the water, OUTDOOR W and SIERRA for rain, ATLAS W and RACHEL 3853 for winter on the ice or on a snowmobile. Alongside them are thermal layers to wear underneath. Start with your activity: for wading choose waders, for the cold season a warm suit.
How to choose, who it is not for, and FAQ
Who it is for
- •Anglers wading in a river or lake: RACHEL BF 5300 has integrated boots (sizes 38 to 40), while RACHEL 1520 is worn with separate wading boots.
- •ATV riders on a muddy track: the RACHEL 6455 jacket with a 17,000 mm membrane, reinforced zones and 3M reflectors.
- •Ice anglers: KEVLAR reinforcements protect the seat and inner thighs of the RACHEL 3853 overall.
- •Petite figures: OUTDOOR W 1312 rain trousers start at XXS, and the sizes also include SQ, MQ and LQ.
How to choose
First decide whether you will be in the water, in the rain or in the cold. Then pick the subcategory, and add a thermal layer to suit the weather.

OUTDOOR W 1312 What you will not find in this collection
- •Women’s softshell jackets and trousers. Look for them in the all jackets category.
- •Neoprene waders for very cold water. Both RACHEL waders have a membrane, so the warmth under them comes from a thermal layer.
- •Thermal underwear with a women’s cut. The POLAR W 1396 jacket is cut for women, but no women’s cut is stated for the other thermal models, so check the size chart.
Frequently asked questions
Are Finntrail women’s models just smaller men’s ones?
No. The specifications of the RACHEL, ATLAS W, OUTDOOR W and SIERRA models state a women’s or anatomical cut, and the RACHEL 3853 overall comes in women’s sizes marked with a Q.
What should a woman wear for ATV riding in the rain?
On top, the RACHEL 6455 wading jacket with waterproof pockets and 3M reflectors works well. If you cross fords, choose RACHEL 1520 waders for your lower half; for light rain OUTDOOR W 1312 trousers are enough.
What clothing should a woman choose for ice fishing?
The one-piece RACHEL 3853 overall or the two-piece ATLAS W set (jacket 3461 and trousers 4613). The maker rates the overall and the jacket down to −20 °C, and you wear thermal underwear underneath.
