Technical specs
Materials & technology
HARD-TEX® 5-layer membrane
A microporous membrane with billions of pores smaller than a raindrop and larger than a vapour molecule: it stops water from outside yet lets sweat vapour escape, so you don’t overheat.
DWR finish
A thin water-repellent finish on the outer layer: water doesn’t soak into the fabric, beads and rolls off, and the fabric dries faster.
YKK zippers
Durable and reliable zippers that run smoothly and last a long time.
3M reflective elements
Reflect light back toward its source for better visibility at dusk and in the dark.
How it differs from a cheaper option
Care
Wash up to 30 °C with a dedicated membrane wash (e.g. Mountval Wash & Care), without softener or bleach. Restore the water repellency (DWR) with Mountval Waterproofing Refresher. Dry naturally, not on a radiator. Repair minor membrane damage with a dedicated adhesive (Aquaseal / Aquasure) on a clean, dry surface.

Water resistance17 000 mmHow to choose the right FINNTRAIL women’s jackets size?
Choosing the correct women’s jacket size ensures comfort, freedom of movement and proper performance during active use.
The size chart shows body measurements, not the actual garment dimensions. FINNTRAIL gear is designed with enough room for base layers while maintaining comfortable movement.
Measure your chest
Chest circumference should be measured around the fullest part of the chest while keeping the measuring tape horizontal and comfortably fitted.
Tip: take measurements while wearing light underwear or a thermal layer if you plan to wear it under the outer garment.Measure your waist
Waist circumference should be measured around the narrowest part of your waist. This measurement helps evaluate whether the jacket, suit or thermal wear will fit correctly.
Measure your inseam
Inseam length is measured from the crotch to the inside of the ankle. This measurement is important when choosing suits, pants or thermal base layers.
Important: if your measurements fall between two sizes, also check chest, hips, sleeve length and inseam correspondence.Women’s jackets, suits and thermals size chart in centimetres

Membrane waterproofing and breathability
Membrane fabric is usually described using two numbers, often separated by a slash: waterproofness and breathability. The first number indicates waterproofness, the second indicates breathability.
?Waterproofing
This is a sliding scale measured in mm that shows how high a column of water you can suspend over the membrane before it starts to let moisture through.
Waterproof Rating Conditions 0–10,000 mm Light rain, dry snow, light pressure. 11,000–15,000 mm Moderate rain, average snow, light pressure. 16,000–20,000 mm Heavy rain, wet snow, some pressure. 20,000 mm+ Heavy rain, wet snow, high pressure. ?Breathability
This is the amount of moisture by weight that can pass through one square metre of fabric over a period of 24 hours. It is commonly measured in g/m²/24 hrs.
Breathability Rating Level of Breathability 0–5,000 g/m²/24 hrs Low – light exercise. 5,000–15,000 g/m²/24 hrs Medium – medium to high energy activity. 15,000 g/m²/24 hrs+ High – vigorous sustained activity.
