Which jacket suits a woman for fishing and ATV riding?
Finntrail women’s jackets are three membrane models cut to a women’s pattern. RACHEL 6455 is made for wading and ATV riding: its five-layer HARD-TEX membrane is rated at 17,000 mm. The light rain jackets for hiking and a day by the water are SIERRA 3451 and OUTDOOR W 1311, both rated at 12,000 mm. If you stand in water or ride through mud, choose RACHEL 6455.

How to choose
It depends on whether you will be in water and mud or just in the rain. All three jackets have a membrane; they differ in the membrane’s margin, breathability and details.

- •As your only warm layer. The membrane keeps out rain and wind but does not warm you: underneath you need fleece from the women’s thermal clothes.
- •Instead of a life jacket in a boat. The wading jacket’s specification states no buoyancy.
Frequently asked questions
Is a wading jacket only for fishing?
No. The RACHEL 6455 specification lists fishing, off-road and active leisure, so it suits ATV riding, hiking in the rain and everyday wear when you need protection from water and mud.
How does OUTDOOR W 1311 differ from SIERRA 3451?
Both membranes are rated the same, at 12,000 mm. The difference is breathability: OUTDOOR W 1311 lets out 10,000 g/m²/24h of vapour, SIERRA 3451 7,000. SIERRA 3451 also has RIPSTOP fabric, YKK zips and reflective details.
What jacket size should I take if I will wear fleece under it?
Measure yourself wearing the fleece you will wear outdoors, and compare the result with the size chart. When your measurements fall between two sizes, take the looser one, so the sleeves do not pull when you paddle or ride.
Will my phone stay dry in the RACHEL 6455 pockets?
The pockets are described as waterproof, with YKK zips. Still, keep your phone in a waterproof case when wading, because you open the pocket often and the zip may be left undone.
