Materials & technology
HARD-TEX® 2.5-layer membrane
A microporous membrane with billions of pores smaller than a raindrop and larger than a vapour molecule: it stops water from outside yet lets sweat vapour escape, so you don’t overheat.
DWR finish
A thin water-repellent finish on the outer layer: rain beads and rolls off, the fabric wets out less and dries faster.
Fully taped seams
Taped strips seal the needle holes so water cannot get in through the seams.
Ergonomic women’s cut
Shaped to a woman’s figure: it sits closer at the waist and hips and moves freely on the trail or by the water.
3M™ reflective elements
Reflect light back toward its source for better visibility at dusk and in the dark.
How they differ from a cheaper option
Care
Wash up to 30 °C with a dedicated membrane wash (Mountval Wash & Care), without softener or bleach: ordinary detergent clogs the membrane. When water stops beading, restore the water repellency (DWR) with an impregnator (Mountval Textile Shield). Dry naturally, not on a radiator or in the sun. Out of season store it dry and on a hanger, not compressed.

Do these pants breathe, or will I sweat?
They breathe: breathability is 10,000 g/m²/24h. The HARD-TEX® membrane lets sweat vapour out while keeping rain off from outside, so you stay dry inside even when active.
How is the women’s cut different?
They are cut to a woman’s figure: more comfortable at the waist and hips, sitting closer without restricting movement. The size chart (XXS to XXL) accounts for height, waist, hips and inseam.
Are they good for both hiking and fishing?
Yes. These are versatile lightweight rain pants for hiking, travel and fishing, where rain protection, comfort and packability matter most.
What is the waterproof rating?
The membrane is 2.5-layer HARD-TEX®, water resistance 12,000 mm, breathability 10,000 g/m²/24h, seams fully taped, surface treated with a DWR finish.
Can I wear them over regular trousers?
Yes, they are made to wear as a protective layer over other trousers. The elastic drawcord waistband and ergonomic cut keep you moving freely.

How to choose the right FINNTRAIL women’s pants size?
Choosing the correct women’s pants size ensures comfort, freedom of movement and a proper fit during active use.
The size chart shows body measurements, not the actual garment dimensions. FINNTRAIL pants are designed for comfortable movement and allow room for additional base layers.
Measure your height
Height should be measured while standing straight, from the feet to the top of the head. This measurement helps evaluate the overall pants length.
Tip: height is especially important when choosing pants for active movement or wearing with thicker footwear.Measure your waist
Waist circumference should be measured around the narrowest part of your waist. The measuring tape should sit close to the body without being too tight.
Measure your hips
Hip circumference should be measured around the fullest part of your hips. This is one of the most important measurements when choosing women’s pants.
Measure your inseam
Inseam length is measured from the crotch to the inside of the ankle. This measurement helps determine whether the pants length will match your height.

Measurement Description Height Body height in centimetres. Waist Waist circumference measured around the narrowest part. Hips Hip circumference measured around the fullest part. Inseam Length from the crotch to the inside of the ankle. First select the size according to your waist and hip measurements, then check whether your height and inseam match the recommended range.
What do the size markings mean?
XXS XS SSmaller sizes for shorter height and a slimmer body shape.
M LStandard sizes for women with an average body build.
SQ MQ LQWider sizes for larger waist or hip measurements.
XL XXLLarger sizes for taller women and larger body measurements.
Recommendation
If your measurements fall between two sizes, it is usually recommended to choose the larger size. This provides more freedom of movement, improves comfort with base layers and makes the pants better suited for active use.
Product Care Instructions
- Wash membrane clothing only with special detergents, such as Mountval Wash & Care, at a temperature no higher than 30 °C, without fabric softeners or bleach.
- After washing, restore water repellency using Mountval Waterproofing Refresher (wash-in) or a spray-on impregnation, following the product instructions.
- After impregnation, allow the product to dry naturally.
- Repair minor membrane damages with special glue, such as Aquaseal / Aquasure, only on clean and dry surfaces.
- Clean boots by hand, do not use a washing machine; if needed, use impregnation products designed for technical footwear.
Regular care helps maintain water repellency, breathability, and prolongs the product's lifespan.

We receive goods at our central warehouse twice per week: on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Depending on the order submission time, goods are included in the corresponding delivery cycle:

- Delivery to Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia is free of charge. Courier delivery to other EU countries: Poland €4.99, Germany €9.99, other EU countries €12.99. The final cost is shown at checkout before payment.
Returns

- Products can be returned within 30 days from the date of receipt.
- The returned item must be unused, with all tags attached and in the original packaging.
- Returns are free within Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. From other countries the return shipment is paid by the buyer.
- In Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, together with the notification about the delivered parcel you will receive a return code allowing you to return the item via any parcel locker.

- The refund is issued within 1–2 business days after receiving the returned item.
Membrane waterproofing and breathability
Membrane fabric is usually described using two numbers, often separated by a slash: waterproofness and breathability. The first number indicates waterproofness, the second indicates breathability.
?Waterproofing
This is a sliding scale measured in mm that shows how high a column of water you can suspend over the membrane before it starts to let moisture through.

This is the amount of moisture by weight that can pass through one square metre of fabric over a period of 24 hours. It is commonly measured in g/m²/24 hrs.
