Rain jacket Finntrail APEX Grey 4027
A lightweight membrane jacket, 15,000 mm and 7,000 g/m²/24h. A three-layer construction with a storm flap over the zip. This is the simpler, more affordable option for anyone who needs reliable rain protection without extra features.
What it is for
Made for fishing and outdoor activity, when you need a dependable jacket at a sensible price.
- •Anglers who want a second jacket to keep in the car.
- •Everyday wear through a rainy autumn.
- •Anyone buying their first membrane jacket.
When it works best
Best for moderate rain and wind. 15,000 mm is enough for ordinary rain; for long downpours and pressure a 20,000 mm model is the better choice.
Specifications
Type Membrane jacket Water resistance 15,000 mm Breathability 7,000 g/m²/24h Membrane layers 3 Zip With a storm flap Colour Grey Features and technologies
Three-layer membrane
Three layers are a sturdier construction than 2.5: the inner layer protects the membrane from abrasion, so the jacket keeps its properties for longer.
Storm flap over the zip
The flap over the zip stops water working its way through the teeth, and that is the most common place where a jacket starts to leak.
Affordable price
This is one of the most affordable membrane models we carry, suitable as a first or a spare jacket.
Care
Wash at 30 °C on a gentle cycle with liquid detergent. Never use fabric softener: it clogs the membrane and the garment stops breathing. When water no longer beads off, refresh the water-repellent finish with a proofer. Dry at room temperature, not on a radiator.
Frequently asked questions
How does it differ from the more expensive models?
The membrane is weaker, 15,000 mm against 20,000 mm, and there are fewer extra features. For ordinary rain that is enough; for long downpours or heavy use it is worth choosing a stronger model.
Is the jacket insulated?
No, this is a lightweight membrane jacket. The warmth comes from the layers you wear underneath.
What do the water resistance and breathability numbers mean?
Millimetres show the water column the fabric holds without letting water through: 10,000 mm is considered a good level for rain, while 20,000 mm already withstands long rain and pressure, for example when you sit on a wet surface. Grams per square metre per day show how much moisture the fabric releases from the inside. The higher the number, the less you sweat.
