Neck Tube Finntrail TUBE CamoShadowGreen 9800
A thin seamless neck tube with UPF 50 sun protection. One elastic tube with no seams that can be worn as neck cover, bandana, face mask or a thin cap. It weighs almost nothing, fits in a pocket and works from spring to autumn, when you need protection from sun, wind and dust.
Who it is for
Made for fishing, off road and everyday trips, when you need light cover rather than warmth.
- •For anglers: protects neck and face from sunburn on bright days.
- •For off road riders: keeps dust and insects out.
- •For everyday and travel, because it takes almost no space in a backpack.

UPF 50 sun protection
Neck Tube Finntrail TUBE 9800 covers the neck and lower face, where sunburn on the water happens fastest, because sunlight reflects off the surface.
One item for several situations
The same tube works as neck cover, dust mask and a thin cap under a helmet. That is why it earns its place in a backpack.
Thin and quick drying
The fabric is thin, so it does not overheat on a hot day, and it dries quickly once wet.
Who it is not for
Neck Tube Finntrail TUBE 9800 is not a winter accessory. It is thin and has no fleece lining, so it will not keep you warm in hard frost or on a long snowmobile ride. For that, choose a reversible fleece tube or a balaclava. It is also not a respirator: the tube stops coarse dust and insects, but it does not filter air and is not protective equipment.
How it differs from the closest models
TUBEPRO 9811 Reversible, with a soft fleece lining. A better fit for cool autumn and spring. THERMOBALA 9728 Balaclava with insulation and a wind collar. A better fit for winter and riding under a helmet. WAVE mask 9805 Face mask with UPF 50 and laser cut openings. A better fit when only the face needs cover. Care
Wash at 30 °C on a gentle cycle with a detergent made for synthetic fabrics (Mountval Polar Wash). Skip the softener: it reduces stretch and moisture wicking. Odour, which sinks in fastest around the face and head, is handled by a rinse-cycle freshener (Mountval Silver Freshness). Dry flat, away from heaters and direct sun.
Frequently asked questions
Is it suitable for summer?
Yes, that is what it is made for. In summer Neck Tube Finntrail TUBE 9800 protects from the sun with UPF 50 and from dust off road.
Does it keep you warm in winter?
No. This tube is thin and has no fleece. For the cold season choose TUBEPRO 9811 or the THERMOBALA 9728 balaclava.
Does it fit under a helmet?
Yes, the fabric is thin and does not interfere with a helmet. Pulled over the head it also works as a thin cap.
Will the colour fade?
Washing at 30 °C without softener and drying in the shade keeps the colour. Drying in direct sun fades any technical fabric.

Membrane waterproofing and breathability
Membrane fabric is usually described using two numbers, often separated by a slash: waterproofness and breathability. The first number indicates waterproofness, the second indicates breathability.
?Waterproofing
This is a sliding scale measured in mm that shows how high a column of water you can suspend over the membrane before it starts to let moisture through.
Waterproof Rating Conditions 0–10,000 mm Light rain, dry snow, light pressure. 11,000–15,000 mm Moderate rain, average snow, light pressure. 16,000–20,000 mm Heavy rain, wet snow, some pressure. 20,000 mm+ Heavy rain, wet snow, high pressure. ?Breathability
This is the amount of moisture by weight that can pass through one square metre of fabric over a period of 24 hours. It is commonly measured in g/m²/24 hrs.
Breathability Rating Level of Breathability 0–5,000 g/m²/24 hrs Low – light exercise. 5,000–15,000 g/m²/24 hrs Medium – medium to high energy activity. 15,000 g/m²/24 hrs+ High – vigorous sustained activity.
