Beanie Finntrail SPORT GraphiteGrey 9715
A membrane sports beanie for cold weather. The membrane fabric, with 5,000 mm water resistance and 5,000 g/m²/24h breathability, keeps rain and sleet from soaking the beanie while letting moisture escape from your head. Rated down to −25 °C, so it suits a cold winter and active use.
What it is for
Made for active use in the cold: snowmobiling, winter fishing, running.
- •For snowmobile riders.
- •For winter fishing, when you stand still in the cold.
- •For active use, when a beanie has to both warm and breathe.
Specifications
Type Beanie Material Membrane fabric Water resistance 5,000 mm Breathability 5,000 g/m²/24h Temperature limit down to −25 °C Colour GraphiteGrey Features
Down to −25 °C
This is the lowest temperature rating among our beanies. The membrane blocks wind, and in the cold that counts for more than fabric thickness.
Breathes while you move
Breathability of 5,000 g/m²/24h releases moisture, so during active movement your head does not get wet from the inside and does not chill when you stop.
Care
Hand wash cool with a dedicated membrane wash (Mountval Wash & Care), without softener or bleach. When water stops beading, restore the water repellency with an impregnator (Mountval Textile Shield). Dry at room temperature, not near a radiator or in the sun.

Hat size is chosen by head circumference. A well-fitting hat stays put in the wind without pressing on your forehead.
How to Measure Head Circumference
Wrap a measuring tape around your head about 1 cm above the eyebrows and over the widest part of the back of your head. The tape should sit snugly but not tight.
Size Chart
Size Head circumference (cm) Head circumference (in) M-L 56–58 22–22.8 XL-XXL 60–62 23.6–24.4 If your measurement falls between two sizes, choose the larger one.
Product Care Instructions
- Wash membrane clothing only with special detergents, such as Mountval Wash & Care, at a temperature no higher than 30 °C, without fabric softeners or bleach.
- After washing, restore water repellency using Mountval Waterproofing Refresher (wash-in) or a spray-on impregnation, following the product instructions.
- After impregnation, allow the product to dry naturally.
- Repair minor membrane damages with special glue, such as Aquaseal / Aquasure, only on clean and dry surfaces.
- Clean boots by hand, do not use a washing machine; if needed, use impregnation products designed for technical footwear.

Membrane waterproofing and breathability
Membrane fabric is usually described using two numbers, often separated by a slash: waterproofness and breathability. The first number indicates waterproofness, the second indicates breathability.
?Waterproofing
This is a sliding scale measured in mm that shows how high a column of water you can suspend over the membrane before it starts to let moisture through.
Waterproof Rating Conditions 0–10,000 mm Light rain, dry snow, light pressure. 11,000–15,000 mm Moderate rain, average snow, light pressure. 16,000–20,000 mm Heavy rain, wet snow, some pressure. 20,000 mm+ Heavy rain, wet snow, high pressure. ?Breathability
This is the amount of moisture by weight that can pass through one square metre of fabric over a period of 24 hours. It is commonly measured in g/m²/24 hrs.
Breathability Rating Level of Breathability 0–5,000 g/m²/24 hrs Low – light exercise. 5,000–15,000 g/m²/24 hrs Medium – medium to high energy activity. 15,000 g/m²/24 hrs+ High – vigorous sustained activity.
