Beanie Finntrail HAT WATERPROOF Graphite 9729
A waterproof insulated beanie with a three-layer membrane. The membrane fabric, with 5,000 mm water resistance and 5,000 g/m²/24h breathability, keeps rain and sleet from soaking the beanie while letting moisture escape from your head. Rated down to −10 °C, so it suits a rainy autumn and a wet winter.
What it is for
Made for fishing and outdoor activity in rain or sleet.
- •For anglers who stay put even when it rains.
- •For off-road riding in wet weather.
- •For outdoor work where an ordinary hat soaks through in half an hour.

Genuinely waterproof
The three-layer membrane with 5,000 mm water resistance keeps rain from soaking through, while 5,000 g/m²/24h breathability releases moisture from your head so you do not overheat.
Insulation
The inner insulation holds warmth, so the beanie works not only in autumn but on colder days too.
Care
Hand wash cool with a dedicated membrane wash (Mountval Wash & Care), without softener or bleach. When water stops beading, restore the water repellency with an impregnator (Mountval Textile Shield). Dry at room temperature, not near a radiator or in the sun.
Frequently asked questions
What does 5,000 mm mean?
It is the height of the water column the fabric holds without letting water through. For a beanie that is more than enough: 5,000 mm withstands long rain.
Will my head overheat?
The membrane breathes at 5,000 g/m²/24h, so moisture gets out. During intense activity any beanie becomes damp inside, and that is normal.
Can it be washed?
Hand wash cool with a dedicated membrane wash (Mountval Wash & Care), without softener. Restore the water repellency with an impregnator (Mountval Textile Shield).

Water resistance5 000 mmHow to Choose Your FINNTRAIL Hat Size
Hat size is chosen by head circumference. A well-fitting hat stays put in the wind without pressing on your forehead.
How to Measure Head Circumference
Wrap a measuring tape around your head about 1 cm above the eyebrows and over the widest part of the back of your head. The tape should sit snugly but not tight.
Size Chart
Size Head circumference (cm) Head circumference (in) M-L 56–58 22–22.8 XL-XXL 60–62 23.6–24.4 If your measurement falls between two sizes, choose the larger one.
Product Care Instructions
- Wash membrane clothing only with special detergents, such as Mountval Wash & Care, at a temperature no higher than 30 °C, without fabric softeners or bleach.
- After washing, restore water repellency using Mountval Waterproofing Refresher (wash-in) or a spray-on impregnation, following the product instructions.
- After impregnation, allow the product to dry naturally.
- Repair minor membrane damages with special glue, such as Aquaseal / Aquasure, only on clean and dry surfaces.
- Clean boots by hand, do not use a washing machine; if needed, use impregnation products designed for technical footwear.
Regular care helps maintain water repellency, breathability, and prolongs the product's lifespan.

Membrane waterproofing and breathability
Membrane fabric is usually described using two numbers, often separated by a slash: waterproofness and breathability. The first number indicates waterproofness, the second indicates breathability.
?Waterproofing
This is a sliding scale measured in mm that shows how high a column of water you can suspend over the membrane before it starts to let moisture through.
Waterproof Rating Conditions 0–10,000 mm Light rain, dry snow, light pressure. 11,000–15,000 mm Moderate rain, average snow, light pressure. 16,000–20,000 mm Heavy rain, wet snow, some pressure. 20,000 mm+ Heavy rain, wet snow, high pressure. ?Breathability
This is the amount of moisture by weight that can pass through one square metre of fabric over a period of 24 hours. It is commonly measured in g/m²/24 hrs.
Breathability Rating Level of Breathability 0–5,000 g/m²/24 hrs Low – light exercise. 5,000–15,000 g/m²/24 hrs Medium – medium to high energy activity. 15,000 g/m²/24 hrs+ High – vigorous sustained activity.
