A women's stretch softshell jacket with a hood. A women's cut in polyamide and elastane with a water-repellent DWR finish. Suits cool and windy weather, where a membrane would be too hot.

When it works best
Best for dry but windy or cool weather. A softshell sits between a base layer and a membrane jacket: it breathes better than a membrane, but it will not hold up to long rain. For rain, choose a membrane jacket.

Stretch fabric, free movement
Polyamide with elastane stretches with you, so the jacket does not restrict your shoulders when rowing or sitting on a quad bike. This is the main advantage a softshell has over a membrane jacket.
Breathes better than a membrane
A softshell releases moisture faster, so you do not get wet from the inside during active movement. That is exactly why it is often more comfortable than a membrane when there is no rain.
DWR finish
The water-repellent finish sheds light rain and spray from the surface. It is not a membrane: it will not hold up to long rain, but it fends off a brief shower or mist.

Wash up to 30 °C with a detergent made for fleece and softshell (Mountval Polar Wash), without softener or bleach. When water stops beading, restore the water repellency with an impregnator (Mountval Textile Shield). Dry at room temperature, not on a radiator. Do not iron hot, so the fabric finish stays intact.

Is the jacket waterproof?
No, this is a softshell, not a membrane. The DWR finish fends off spray and brief rain, but in prolonged rain it will soak through. For rain you need a membrane jacket.
Is it suitable for winter?
The jacket is uninsulated, so in winter it works as a mid layer under a membrane jacket, or for cool but not cold weather.
Does a light colour get dirty quickly?
Mint is a lighter shade, so dirt shows more on it. The softshell surface is smooth, so mud wipes off with a damp cloth, and a 30 °C wash restores the look.
