Finntrail TOURING Graphite 5230 Snow Boots
Warm, waterproof winter boots with a removable inner boot, built for snowmobiling and ice fishing in the deepest cold. A HARD-TEX® membrane keeps out water and wind, the Cotton Insulation liner holds the heat, and a non-slip rubber outsole with an EVA midsole keeps your step stable on snow and ice.
Who it is for
Made for long spells in the cold, when you need a dependably warm, waterproof boot for active winter use.
- •For snowmobiling and winter trips.
- •For ice fishing and long hours on the ice.
- •For outdoor work and leisure in hard cold.
When it shines
Best in deep winter cold and on snow: when you stand or sit in one spot for a long time and your foot has to stay warm and dry. The removable inner boot is easy to dry after the day, ready for the next one.
Technical specs
Materials & technology
HARD-TEX® membrane
A breathable membrane keeps out water and wind and vents moisture from inside, so your foot stays dry and warm on snow, slush and wet ground.
Removable warm inner boot
The Cotton Insulation liner (1,200 g) provides most of the warmth, and because the inner boot comes out, it is easy to dry separately for the next time.
EVA midsole and rubber outsole
The EVA midsole adds cushioning and thermal insulation, while the non-slip rubber tread and heel reinforcement keep your step stable on ice and snow.
Support and comfort
Achilles and ankle support reduces fatigue, the elastic tongue and rear pull loop ease putting them on, and you can adjust the hook-and-loop straps even with gloves.
How it differs from ordinary winter boots
Care
After a trip rinse the mud off with clean water, especially the tread and the seams. Once dry, spray the boots with an impregnator (Mountval Protector) so water beads off again. Dry at room temperature or in a boot dryer on low, not near a radiator: heat damages the membrane and the glue. Odour inside is handled by a spray (Mountval Odour Absorber).
Frequently asked questions
How much cold do these boots handle?
The maker states they are built for hard winter cold (rated down to −75 °C with a suitable inner boot and a warm sock). In real use, a lot depends on your socks, movement and whether you stand still for a long time.
Are the boots waterproof?
Yes. The HARD-TEX® membrane keeps out water and wind, and your foot stays dry on snow, slush and wet ground. It is a breathable membrane, so moisture from inside is vented out.
What is the removable inner boot for?
The warm inner boot can be taken out and dried separately, so the next morning you put on a dry boot. It provides most of the warmth and makes care easier.
Does the sole grip on ice?
The outsole is sturdy, non-slip rubber with a tread and an EVA midsole, so your step stays stable on snow and slippery ground, while the EVA adds cushioning and warmth.
What size should I choose?
Winter boots are worn with a warm sock, so choose your usual size; if you plan a thick wool sock, you can go one size up. Sizes 41–46 are available. If unsure, message us and we will help.
What about warranty and returns?

How to Choose the Correct FINNTRAIL Men's Footwear Size
Choosing the correct footwear size is important not only for comfort but also for safety. Boots that are too small may compress the foot, restrict circulation, and cause discomfort, while oversized footwear may reduce stability, create friction, and make walking in water or mud more difficult.
FINNTRAIL wading boots are designed to accommodate both the neoprene stockingfoot of waders and a medium-thickness sock. Therefore, sizing should be selected according to your actual foot length in centimeters, rather than your everyday shoe size.
Measure Your Foot Length
Measure the length of your foot from the heel to the tip of your longest toe. It is recommended to take measurements in the evening, when feet are naturally slightly larger after daily activity.
How to measure: stand on a sheet of paper, mark the position of your heel and longest toe, then measure the distance between these points in centimeters. If one foot is slightly longer than the other, always use the measurement of the longer foot.
Select Your Size Using the Chart
Compare your measured foot length with the FINNTRAIL size chart. For example, if your foot length is 28 cm, the recommended size is 43 (10).
EU / US Size Foot Length, cm 38 (5) 23 39 (6) 24 40 (7) 25 41 (8) 26 42 (9) 27 43 (10) 28 44 (11) 29 45 (12) 30 46 (13) 31 47 (14) 32 Why Are FINNTRAIL Wading Boots Sized Differently?
Wading boots are not ordinary everyday footwear. They are designed to be worn together with waders that feature neoprene stockingfeet. Therefore, the boot must provide sufficient space for both the neoprene stockingfoot and a medium-thickness sock.
Important: FINNTRAIL wading boots are already designed to account for the thickness of neoprene stockingfeet. There is no need to order a larger size than indicated by your actual foot length.Oversizing excessively may reduce foot support, decrease stability, and increase friction during walking.
When Should You Choose a Larger Size?
A larger size may be appropriate only in certain situations.
- If your foot length falls between two sizes.
- If you have particularly wide feet.
- If you plan to wear thicker thermal socks in cold weather.
- If the boots will be used for long-distance walking and additional room is preferred.
Recommendation: if you are between two sizes, it is generally better to choose the larger option, but avoid sizing up more than necessary.Note About Wet Wading Shoes
Wet wading shoes may fit approximately 1.5 sizes larger than standard footwear. When selecting this type of footwear, always consider the specific model and intended use.
Note: this recommendation applies specifically to wet wading shoes. Standard FINNTRAIL wading boots should be selected according to the foot length chart above.Recommendation Before Ordering
Before placing your order, measure your foot length in centimeters and compare it with the size chart. If you will be wearing the boots with waders, wet wading socks, or thermal socks, consider the complete layering system when choosing your size.
Best results: provide your foot length in centimeters and specify whether the boots will be worn with waders, wet wading socks, or thicker thermal socks.Summary
To choose the correct FINNTRAIL men's footwear size, the most important measurement is your foot length in centimeters. FINNTRAIL wading boots are already designed to accommodate neoprene stockingfeet, so there is no need to increase your size unnecessarily. If your measurement falls between two sizes or you have wider feet, choosing the larger size may provide a better fit.
Wading Boots Care
Wading boots are constantly exposed to moisture, sand, mud and abrasion from rocks. Proper care helps maintain their durability, grip and comfort.
Cleaning After Use
After every fishing trip, rinse the boots with clean water to remove mud, sand and small stones that may damage the material or seams.
If the boots were used in saltwater or extremely muddy conditions, rinse them thoroughly.
Washing the Boots
If the boots are heavily soiled, clean them by hand using water and a soft brush. Machine washing is not recommended.
If necessary, use specialized cleaning products designed for technical outdoor footwear.
Proper Drying
After washing or use, allow the boots to dry naturally at room temperature with the insoles removed.
Avoid drying them on radiators or using hot air heaters.
Regular Care
Regular cleaning and proper drying help maintain grip on slippery rocks, stability in water and comfort during long fishing trips.

Membrane waterproofing and breathability
Membrane fabric is usually described using two numbers, often separated by a slash: waterproofness and breathability. The first number indicates waterproofness, the second indicates breathability.
?Waterproofing
This is a sliding scale measured in mm that shows how high a column of water you can suspend over the membrane before it starts to let moisture through.
Waterproof Rating Conditions 0–10,000 mm Light rain, dry snow, light pressure. 11,000–15,000 mm Moderate rain, average snow, light pressure. 16,000–20,000 mm Heavy rain, wet snow, some pressure. 20,000 mm+ Heavy rain, wet snow, high pressure. ?Breathability
This is the amount of moisture by weight that can pass through one square metre of fabric over a period of 24 hours. It is commonly measured in g/m²/24 hrs.
Breathability Rating Level of Breathability 0–5,000 g/m²/24 hrs Low – light exercise. 5,000–15,000 g/m²/24 hrs Medium – medium to high energy activity. 15,000 g/m²/24 hrs+ High – vigorous sustained activity.
