Finntrail WAVE NEW Khaki 2852 UV Gloves
Light summer gloves with open fingers and UPF 50 protection that shield the skin on your hands from harmful sun and let you handle fishing gear freely on a hot, sunny day. A light, stretchy fabric dries quickly, breathes and wicks sweat away, so your hands stay dry and cool. Open fingers (cut-off) make it easy to tie knots, change lures or handle small tools, while reinforced palms add durability and grip. A pull loop and anatomical cut keep them comfortable all day.
Who it is for
Made for summer outdoor use in the sun, when the skin on your hands needs UV protection but your fingers must stay free to work.
- •For anglers and summer fishing on a hot, sunny day.
- •For outdoor enthusiasts, athletes and travellers.
- •For boat and kayak, when the sun reflects off the water.
When it shines
Best on a hot, sunny day on the water or outdoors, when you spend long hours in the sun and want to protect the skin on your hands from burning without losing finger dexterity: UPF 50 blocks UV rays, and the open fingers let you tie knots and handle gear.
Technical specs
Materials & technology
UPF 50 sun protection
The fabric blocks harmful UV rays and protects the skin on your hands from burning during long spells in the sun or on the water. It is a summer protection layer, not a warm glove.
Open fingers and reinforced palms
Open fingers (cut-off) let you tie knots, change lures and handle small tools with ease, while reinforced palms add durability and firm grip on a rod or paddle.
Light, quick-drying fabric
The light, stretchy fabric breathes and wicks sweat away, so your hands stay dry and cool. Once wet it dries quickly, and a pull loop with an anatomical cut keeps the gloves comfortable all day.
How they differ from fishing bare-handed
Care
Hand wash in cool water on a gentle setting, without fabric softener or bleach. After a day on the water, rinse out salt or dirty water so the fabric lasts longer. Dry at room temperature, out of direct sun and away from radiators.
Frequently asked questions
Are these warm, winter gloves?
No. These are summer UV protection gloves. Their only purpose is to shield the skin on your hands from the sun (UPF 50) and make handling gear easier on a hot day. They give no warmth; for the cold, choose warm gloves.
How does UPF 50 protection work?
The fabric blocks harmful UV rays and protects the skin on your hands from sunburn during long spells outdoors or on the water. UPF 50 means a very high level of protection.
Why are the fingers open?
Open fingers (cut-off) make it easier to handle fishing gear and small tools: tie knots, change lures, unhook a fish. The fingertips stay free, so dexterity does not suffer.
Are the gloves waterproof?
No, this is a light summer fabric, not a membrane, and it is not meant to be. In return it dries quickly, so once wet it is soon ready to work again.
What size should I choose?
Sizes S–XL are available, with a unisex cut. Choose your usual glove size; if you are between two, go up. If unsure, message us and we will help.

How to Choose the Correct FINNTRAIL Men’s Glove Size
Choosing the correct glove size is important for comfort, grip, and precise hand movement. Gloves that are too small may compress the palm, restrict finger movement, and wear out faster, while gloves that are too large may reduce control, slip on the hand, and interfere with active use.
FINNTRAIL glove size is selected according to palm circumference in centimeters. Measure around the palm, just below the knuckles, without including the thumb.
Measure Your Palm Circumference
Wrap the measuring tape around the widest part of your palm, just below the knuckles. Do not include the thumb in the measurement.
How to measure: keep your hand relaxed, with the measuring tape close to the palm, but not tight enough to press into the skin.If you measure both hands and the circumference differs, choose the size according to the larger hand.
Select Your Size Using the Chart
Compare your palm circumference with the FINNTRAIL glove size chart. If your measurement falls between two sizes, choosing the larger size is usually more practical.
Size Palm Circumference, cm S 19–20 M 21–22 L 23–24 XL 25–26 Why Is the Correct Glove Size Important?
Gloves should fit securely around the hand without restricting movement. The correct size allows you to comfortably hold a fishing rod, handlebar, tools, or other equipment.
Important: gloves that are too tight may restrict circulation and reduce warmth, while gloves that are too loose may reduce grip and control accuracy. When Should You Choose a Larger Size?
- If your palm circumference falls between two sizes.
- If you prefer a slightly looser fit.
- If you will wear the gloves for long periods and maximum comfort is important.
- If you plan to wear a thin liner glove underneath.
Recommendation: for active use, choose a size that fits securely on the hand without restricting finger movement.Recommendation Before Ordering
Before ordering FINNTRAIL gloves, measure your palm circumference in centimeters and compare it with the size chart. Measure accurately around the palm, below the knuckles, without including the thumb.
Best result: provide your palm circumference in centimeters. This measurement allows the most accurate FINNTRAIL glove size recommendation.Summary
To choose the correct FINNTRAIL men’s glove size, the key measurement is palm circumference in centimeters. Wrap the measuring tape around the palm below the knuckles, without including the thumb. Correctly sized gloves provide comfort, reliable grip, and unrestricted movement.

Membrane waterproofing and breathability
Membrane fabric is usually described using two numbers, often separated by a slash: waterproofness and breathability. The first number indicates waterproofness, the second indicates breathability.
?Waterproofing
This is a sliding scale measured in mm that shows how high a column of water you can suspend over the membrane before it starts to let moisture through.
Waterproof Rating Conditions 0–10,000 mm Light rain, dry snow, light pressure. 11,000–15,000 mm Moderate rain, average snow, light pressure. 16,000–20,000 mm Heavy rain, wet snow, some pressure. 20,000 mm+ Heavy rain, wet snow, high pressure. ?Breathability
This is the amount of moisture by weight that can pass through one square metre of fabric over a period of 24 hours. It is commonly measured in g/m²/24 hrs.
Breathability Rating Level of Breathability 0–5,000 g/m²/24 hrs Low – light exercise. 5,000–15,000 g/m²/24 hrs Medium – medium to high energy activity. 15,000 g/m²/24 hrs+ High – vigorous sustained activity.
