Cap Finntrail CAP Red 9610
A lightweight summer cap with a curved brim and a breathable mesh back panel, made for fishing, travel and active days outdoors in the warm season. The Finntrail CAP Red 9610 shades your eyes with a curved brim, while the mesh back panel lets air through so your head does not overheat in a boat or on the trail. The adjustable closure fits the cap to your head size, and the light build makes it comfortable to wear all day. This is an everyday summer cap, not rain or cold weather protection.
Who it is for
Made for warm season use outdoors, when you need to shade your eyes and still let your head breathe.
- •Fishing on sunny days, when glare off the water tires your eyes.
- •Hiking, travel and ATV or UTV riding.
- •Everyday city wear, when a technical but quiet look works.
When it works best
Best on a sunny, warm day: the curved brim shades your eyes, the mesh back panel releases heat, and the adjustable closure keeps the cap in place even in a windy boat.
Technical data
Materials and technologies
Breathable mesh back panel
The mesh at the back releases heat and moisture, so your head does not overheat in the sun or during activity. That is exactly why this cap suits summer fishing and hiking rather than cold weather.
Curved brim
The curved brim shades your eyes from direct sun and from glare reflected off the water. A simple thing, but an important one in fishing, where the eyes tire first.
Adjustable closure
The closure at the back fits the cap to your head size, so it stays on even in a windy boat. One size fits most adults.
How it differs from a plain cap
Care
Wash at 30 °C on a gentle cycle with a detergent made for synthetic fabrics (Mountval Polar Wash). Skip the softener: it reduces stretch and moisture wicking. Odour, which sinks in fastest around the face and head, is handled by a rinse-cycle freshener (Mountval Silver Freshness). Dry flat, away from heaters and direct sun.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Finntrail CAP 9610 waterproof?
No. It is a lightweight summer cap with a mesh back panel and no membrane, so it soaks through in rain. For wet and cold weather choose the membrane cap HAT WATERPROOF 9714.
Can I wear it in winter?
No, it is made for the warm season. For winter choose an insulated hat such as TERRA 2950 or the membrane HAT WATERPROOF 9714.
Is the cap adjustable?
Yes. There is an adjustable closure at the back, so the cap fits to your head size and one size covers most adults.
Can I machine wash it?
Wash at 30 °C on a gentle cycle with a detergent for synthetic fabrics, without softener, and dry it flat. The brim does not like hot water or a tumble dryer.
What is the difference between CamoArmy, Graphite and Red?
Only the colour differs. The build is the same: curved brim, mesh back panel and adjustable closure.

Membrane waterproofing and breathability
Membrane fabric is usually described using two numbers, often separated by a slash: waterproofness and breathability. The first number indicates waterproofness, the second indicates breathability.
?Waterproofing
This is a sliding scale measured in mm that shows how high a column of water you can suspend over the membrane before it starts to let moisture through.
Waterproof Rating Conditions 0–10,000 mm Light rain, dry snow, light pressure. 11,000–15,000 mm Moderate rain, average snow, light pressure. 16,000–20,000 mm Heavy rain, wet snow, some pressure. 20,000 mm+ Heavy rain, wet snow, high pressure. ?Breathability
This is the amount of moisture by weight that can pass through one square metre of fabric over a period of 24 hours. It is commonly measured in g/m²/24 hrs.
Breathability Rating Level of Breathability 0–5,000 g/m²/24 hrs Low – light exercise. 5,000–15,000 g/m²/24 hrs Medium – medium to high energy activity. 15,000 g/m²/24 hrs+ High – vigorous sustained activity.
