Which jacket should you wear for enduro riding in spring and autumn?

- •Those who heat up riding standing: GUARD 4078 has underarm perforation and stretch inserts on the shoulders.
- •Enduro riders on a cool or damp day: ENDURO 1308 has a membrane from 15,000 mm, a YKK zip with a magnetic strip and sealed rubberised cuffs.
How to choose
Both jackets are light and stretchy; the difference is the weather. Check the forecast: if it is dry and hot, take GUARD; if it is cool, windy or drizzling, ENDURO.

- •Rain in GUARD 4078. The Teflon coating repels spray, but it is not a membrane, so for a rainy day take ENDURO 1308 or a rain suit.
- •Impact protection. The jackets have no protectors; their place is under the jacket.
- •A cold winter. There is no insulation, so on a cold day you need a thermal layer under the jacket.
Frequently asked questions
Does the ENDURO 1308 hood get in the way when riding with a helmet?
The hood is detachable, so you can unclip it when riding with a helmet. When you stop or after the trail, you clip it back on and adjust it at the front and back.
Is GUARD 4078 suitable for a hot summer day?
Yes, the Finntrail GUARD 4078 jacket is light, breathes and has underarm perforation. It protects your arms from dust, sand and sun when you ride with just a jersey under it.
Can I wear body armour under the jacket?
Yes, but choose the size by trying it on with the armour. On GUARD 4078 you adjust the waist and sleeves with hook and loop straps, so you can cinch the jacket so it does not flap while riding.
How many pockets does GUARD 4078 have?
Two chest pockets with zips: one outside and one inside. In zipped pockets small items do not fall out when the trail shakes you over roots.
