Finntrail LOBSTER GraphiteRed 2800 Winter Gloves
Winter gloves rated to –30 °C with a lobster cut: two fingers together give you mitten warmth, while the thumb and index finger keep you in control. Three layers work in the Finntrail LOBSTER GraphiteRed 2800 gloves: a HIPORA® membrane keeps moisture and snow out, THERMALRATE® insulation holds the heat, and inner microfleece gloves sit right against the skin. The palm is reinforced with leather pads, so handlebars or a rod do not wear the material through, and the extended cuffs cover the edge of your sleeve so wind and snow cannot get inside.
Who they are for
Made for hard frost, when ordinary gloves stop warming and mittens take away your ability to do anything.
- •Ice fishing and standing still in the cold.
- •Snowmobiling and riding into the wind.
- •Any outdoor activity down to –30 °C.
When they shine
Best in deep cold with wind: two fingers in one pocket warm each other, so the hand stays warm where a five finger glove already gives up.
Technical specs
Materials & technology
Lobster cut
Two fingers share one pocket and warm each other, while the thumb and index finger stay separate. That gives mitten level warmth without losing your grip.
HIPORA® membrane
The membrane keeps snow and moisture out but lets vapour through, so the hand does not end up wet from sweat. Water resistance 10 000 mm, breathability 8 000 g/m²/24h.
THERMALRATE® insulation
The insulation holds heat against the skin even when you stand still, so the glove works when there is little movement to warm you.
Inner microfleece gloves
A thin fleece layer sits against the skin, keeping the warmth closer to the hand, and after a day out it can be dried separately.
Leather pads and extended cuffs
Leather pads protect the palm from wearing against handlebars or a rod, while extended cuffs cover the edge of the sleeve so wind and snow stay out.
How they differ from ordinary five finger gloves
Care
Hand wash cool with a detergent made for synthetic fabrics (Mountval Polar Wash), without softener or bleach. Dry at room temperature, not near a radiator: heat damages the membrane and the taped seams. Odour inside the gloves is handled by a spray (Mountval Helmet Clean & Fresh).
Frequently asked questions
What does a lobster cut mean?
It is a glove where two fingers share one pocket while the thumb and index finger are separate. The hand warms almost like in a mitten, but you can still grip handlebars, a rod or a zipper.
How much cold do they take?
The stated limit is –30 °C. In practice a lot depends on activity: standing still in the cold gets you colder faster than moving, and wet gloves warm worse than dry ones.
Are the gloves waterproof?
They have a HIPORA® membrane, a water column of 10 000 mm and breathability of 8 000 g/m²/24h. Snow and sleet stay outside while sweat has a way out.
Can the inner gloves be taken out?
The inner microfleece gloves are a separate layer, so you can use them as a thin glove indoors or dry them separately after a long day.
How do I wash them?
Hand wash cool with a detergent for synthetic fabrics (Mountval Polar Wash) and dry at room temperature, not near a radiator. Odour inside is handled by a spray (Mountval Helmet Clean & Fresh).

How to Choose the Correct FINNTRAIL Men’s Glove Size
Choosing the correct glove size is important for comfort, grip, and precise hand movement. Gloves that are too small may compress the palm, restrict finger movement, and wear out faster, while gloves that are too large may reduce control, slip on the hand, and interfere with active use.
FINNTRAIL glove size is selected according to palm circumference in centimeters. Measure around the palm, just below the knuckles, without including the thumb.
Measure Your Palm Circumference
Wrap the measuring tape around the widest part of your palm, just below the knuckles. Do not include the thumb in the measurement.
How to measure: keep your hand relaxed, with the measuring tape close to the palm, but not tight enough to press into the skin.If you measure both hands and the circumference differs, choose the size according to the larger hand.
Select Your Size Using the Chart
Compare your palm circumference with the FINNTRAIL glove size chart. If your measurement falls between two sizes, choosing the larger size is usually more practical.
Size Palm Circumference, cm S 19–20 M 21–22 L 23–24 XL 25–26 Why Is the Correct Glove Size Important?
Gloves should fit securely around the hand without restricting movement. The correct size allows you to comfortably hold a fishing rod, handlebar, tools, or other equipment.
Important: gloves that are too tight may restrict circulation and reduce warmth, while gloves that are too loose may reduce grip and control accuracy. When Should You Choose a Larger Size?
- If your palm circumference falls between two sizes.
- If you prefer a slightly looser fit.
- If you will wear the gloves for long periods and maximum comfort is important.
- If you plan to wear a thin liner glove underneath.
Recommendation: for active use, choose a size that fits securely on the hand without restricting finger movement.Recommendation Before Ordering
Before ordering FINNTRAIL gloves, measure your palm circumference in centimeters and compare it with the size chart. Measure accurately around the palm, below the knuckles, without including the thumb.
Best result: provide your palm circumference in centimeters. This measurement allows the most accurate FINNTRAIL glove size recommendation.Summary
To choose the correct FINNTRAIL men’s glove size, the key measurement is palm circumference in centimeters. Wrap the measuring tape around the palm below the knuckles, without including the thumb. Correctly sized gloves provide comfort, reliable grip, and unrestricted movement.

Membrane waterproofing and breathability
Membrane fabric is usually described using two numbers, often separated by a slash: waterproofness and breathability. The first number indicates waterproofness, the second indicates breathability.
?Waterproofing
This is a sliding scale measured in mm that shows how high a column of water you can suspend over the membrane before it starts to let moisture through.
Waterproof Rating Conditions 0–10,000 mm Light rain, dry snow, light pressure. 11,000–15,000 mm Moderate rain, average snow, light pressure. 16,000–20,000 mm Heavy rain, wet snow, some pressure. 20,000 mm+ Heavy rain, wet snow, high pressure. ?Breathability
This is the amount of moisture by weight that can pass through one square metre of fabric over a period of 24 hours. It is commonly measured in g/m²/24 hrs.
Breathability Rating Level of Breathability 0–5,000 g/m²/24 hrs Low – light exercise. 5,000–15,000 g/m²/24 hrs Medium – medium to high energy activity. 15,000 g/m²/24 hrs+ High – vigorous sustained activity.
