Winter hat Finntrail TERRA Graphite 2950
A winter hat with a 2.5 layer HARD-TEX® membrane, THERMALRATE® insulation and a fleece lining. It works down to –25 °C. The Finntrail TERRA Graphite 2950 blocks wind and moisture with its membrane layer, while THERMALRATE insulation and the fleece lining keep the warmth next to your head. The outer face has a DWR finish, so snow and sleet run off instead of soaking in. The fabric resists abrasion, so the hat survives helmets, hoods and daily wear. The faux fur trim adds shelter from wind across the forehead.

Materials and technologies
HARD-TEX membrane, 2.5 layer
The membrane layer blocks wind and moisture from outside, so your head does not chill on a windy day. The membrane is exactly what separates this hat from a knitted one, which lets wind straight through.
THERMALRATE insulation and fleece lining
The insulation holds warmth even when you move little, and the soft fleece against your head makes it comfortable to wear. The hat works down to –25 °C.
DWR finish and abrasion resistant face
The DWR finish repels snow, sleet and mud, so the fabric does not soak up water and turn cold. The abrasion resistant face survives hoods, helmets and daily wear, and the DWR is renewed over time with an impregnator.
How it differs from a knitted hat
Care
Hand wash cool with a dedicated membrane wash (Mountval Wash & Care), without softener or bleach. When water stops beading, restore the water repellency with an impregnator (Mountval Textile Shield). Dry at room temperature, not near a radiator or in the sun.

How cold can the Finntrail TERRA 2950 handle?
The hat works down to –25 °C. Treat that as a guide for calm to moderate activity: standing still in the cold, you feel it sooner than when moving.
Is the TERRA 2950 waterproof?
It has a 2.5 layer HARD-TEX membrane and a DWR finish, so snow and sleet run off and wind does not blow through. There is no water column figure for this hat, so we do not quote one.
Does it fit under a helmet?
The TERRA 2950 is an insulated hat with faux fur trim, so it is too thick under a helmet. Under a helmet wear a thin balaclava such as the TURBOBALA 9723 or THERMOBALA 9722.
How is it different from the HAT WATERPROOF 9714?
The HAT WATERPROOF 9714 is a thinner membrane hat with a fleece lining, while the TERRA 2950 adds THERMALRATE insulation and a faux fur trim, so it is made for colder days.
How do I wash a membrane hat?
Hand wash cool with a membrane detergent, without softener or bleach, and dry at room temperature. Ordinary detergent clogs the membrane and a radiator damages it.

How to Choose Your FINNTRAIL Hat Size
Hat size is chosen by head circumference. A well-fitting hat stays put in the wind without pressing on your forehead.
How to Measure Head Circumference
Wrap a measuring tape around your head about 1 cm above the eyebrows and over the widest part of the back of your head. The tape should sit snugly but not tight.

Product Care Instructions
- Wash membrane clothing only with special detergents, such as Mountval Wash & Care, at a temperature no higher than 30 °C, without fabric softeners or bleach.
- After washing, restore water repellency using Mountval Waterproofing Refresher (wash-in) or a spray-on impregnation, following the product instructions.
- After impregnation, allow the product to dry naturally.
- Repair minor membrane damages with special glue, such as Aquaseal / Aquasure, only on clean and dry surfaces.
- Clean boots by hand, do not use a washing machine; if needed, use impregnation products designed for technical footwear.
Regular care helps maintain water repellency, breathability, and prolongs the product's lifespan.

Product delivery
We receive goods at our central warehouse twice per week: on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Depending on the order submission time, goods are included in the corresponding delivery cycle:

- Delivery is available to parcel lockers in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia or by courier to your door.
- Delivery to Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia is free of charge. Courier delivery to other EU countries: Poland €4.99, Germany €9.99, other EU countries €12.99. The final cost is shown at checkout before payment.
Returns

- Products can be returned within 30 days from the date of receipt.
- The returned item must be unused, with all tags attached and in the original packaging.
- Returns are free within Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. From other countries the return shipment is paid by the buyer.
- In Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, together with the notification about the delivered parcel you will receive a return code allowing you to return the item via any parcel locker.

Membrane waterproofing and breathability
Membrane fabric is usually described using two numbers, often separated by a slash: waterproofness and breathability. The first number indicates waterproofness, the second indicates breathability.
?Waterproofing
This is a sliding scale measured in mm that shows how high a column of water you can suspend over the membrane before it starts to let moisture through.
