Can I go mushroom picking in OUTLANDER 7516 in summer?
You can, but on a hot day the thick neoprene lining will be warmer than you need, because it is made for cool, damp weather. For summer foraging and the yard, the short uninsulated DECK 7518 is more comfortable.
Which socks should I wear in rubber boots when foraging?
Wear socks that move moisture away from the skin, for example merino wool or thermal socks from the socks section. Sweat has nowhere to go in a rubber boot, and damp cotton starts to chill your foot within a few hours.
Which rubber boots are easier to pull on?
DECK 7518 is easier to pull on: a short shaft and two enlarged heel loops. OUTLANDER 7516 is taller but has a wide heel loop, so it also goes on without much effort.
Are rubber boots worth taking on a road trip?
Yes, as a second pair in the car boot: when you arrive at a wet meadow or forest you change into DECK 7518 or OUTLANDER 7516, and after the trip you rinse the muddy boots with water and leave them to dry.
