Finntrail WAVE BIG LOGO LightBlue 6614 Hooded Longsleeve
A long-sleeve shirt with a built-in hood and UPF 50 sun protection, made for fishing, sport and everyday wear on a hot day. The hood is sewn into the garment and shields your neck from the sun, while the long sleeves cover the skin on your arms, so you are protected exactly where sunscreen rubs off first. A stretchy, breathable fabric wicks moisture away and dries quickly, so you stay dry and cool when it is hot. An antibacterial finish stops odours from building up, and a BUG OFF treatment protects you from insects out in nature.
Who it is for
Made for fishing, sport and everyday wear, when you spend long hours in the sun and the garment has to stay light and breathable. The Finntrail WAVE BIG LOGO 6614 is for anyone who finds long sleeves alone are not enough and wants the neck covered too.
- •For fishing in the sun, when you spend the whole day by the water and your neck takes the worst of it.
- •For sport and active outdoor use on a hot day, when a cap will not stay on or gets in the way.
- •For everyday wear, when you want to protect your skin from UV rays without reapplying sunscreen every couple of hours.
- •For relaxing outdoors when insects give you no peace: the fabric carries a BUG OFF treatment.
When it shines
It performs best on a hot, sunny day out in the open, where there is no shade to hide in: in a boat, on the bank, along an exposed shoreline. UPF 50 shields your skin from UV rays, the built-in hood covers your neck, long sleeves cover your arms, the BUG OFF treatment keeps insects away, and the breathable fabric keeps you from overheating.
Technical specs
Materials & technology
UPF 50 sun protection
The fabric holds back ultraviolet rays and protects your skin during long spells outdoors or by the water. UPF 50 is a high level of protection. Unlike sunscreen, it does not rub off or wash away, so it works the same all day long.
Built-in hood that shields the neck
The hood is sewn into the garment itself, so there is nothing extra to carry and nothing to lose. Pull it up and it covers your neck, the spot that usually gets forgotten: a cap does not reach it, and sunscreen rubs off there first from sweat and collars. When the sun eases off, you simply drop the hood.
Stretch fabric that breathes and dries quickly
The stretch fabric lets air through and wicks moisture away from the skin, and once damp it dries quickly, so in hot weather your body stays dry and cool and nothing restricts your movement.
Antibacterial finish and BUG OFF treatment
The antibacterial finish stops odours from building up, so the shirt stays fresh after a long day. The BUG OFF treatment protects you from insects while you relax outdoors or fish by the water.
How it differs from a plain shirt
Care
Wash cool on a gentle setting, without fabric softener or bleach: that way the antibacterial finish, the BUG OFF treatment and the stretch of the fabric last longer. If you want a gentler product for technical fabrics, Mountval Wash & Care works well. After a day by the water, rinse out salt or dirty water. Dry at room temperature, out of direct sun and away from radiators, and smooth out the hood first so it does not dry creased.
Frequently asked questions
Does this shirt have a hood?
Yes. The Finntrail WAVE BIG LOGO 6614 is a long-sleeve shirt with a built-in hood, even though the product name simply says “shirt”. The hood is not a separate attachment, it is sewn into the garment.
Why a hood on a summer shirt?
The hood shields your neck from the sun. That is the spot a cap misses and sunscreen forgets, and while fishing or paddling your neck is in the sun all day. Pull the hood up and it is covered, with nothing extra to carry.
How does UPF 50 protection work?
The fabric holds back ultraviolet rays and protects your skin during long spells outdoors or by the water. UPF 50 is a high level of protection, and the hood and long sleeves cover your neck and arms on top of that. Unlike sunscreen, the fabric does not rub off or wash away during the day.
How does it differ from the Finntrail WAVE LOGO 6613?
Same fabric and the same features: UPF 50, antibacterial finish, BUG OFF treatment, long sleeves. One part differs: the WAVE BIG LOGO 6614 has a built-in hood, while the WAVE LOGO 6613 comes without one. If the sun keeps catching your neck, choose the 6614.
Is this a warm shirt?
No. This is a summer shirt with sun protection, and the hood is there for shade rather than warmth. Its purpose is to stay light and cool on a hot day. For the cold, choose a thermal or an insulated line.
Is the shirt waterproof?
No, this is a light fabric, not a membrane, and it is not meant to be. In return it wicks moisture away and dries quickly, so once wet it is soon ready to work again. For rain, choose a rain line.
What do the antibacterial finish and the BUG OFF treatment do?
The antibacterial finish stops odours from building up, so the shirt stays fresh longer. The BUG OFF treatment protects you from insects while you relax outdoors or spend a long day by the water.

How to Choose the Correct FINNTRAIL Men’s T-shirt and Hoodie Size
Choosing the correct FINNTRAIL T-shirt, hoodie or jersey size ensures comfort, freedom of movement and easy layering. A size that is too small may restrict movement and feel tight around the chest or shoulders, while a size that is too large fits loosely and bunches under an outer layer.
The size chart shows body measurements, not garment measurements. FINNTRAIL gear is designed with extra room for comfort and movement, so sizing should be selected according to your body measurements.
Measure Your Chest Girth
Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the measuring tape horizontal. Stand straight and keep the tape close to the body, but not tight.
How to measure: measure around the widest part of your chest while breathing naturally and keeping your body relaxed. This measurement is especially important when choosing jackets and the upper part of a suit.
Measure Your Waist and Hips
Measure your waist at the narrowest part or where you usually wear your pants. Measure your hips around the widest part.
Important: do not pull in your stomach and do not tighten the measuring tape too much. The gear should leave enough room for movement, base layers and comfortable sitting. If you are choosing a suit or pants, hip and waist measurements are just as important as height.
Measure Inseam and Sleeve Length
Inseam is measured from the crotch to the inside of the ankle. Sleeve length helps determine whether the jacket sleeves will properly cover your arms during active movement.
Recommendation: check these measurements if you are taller, have longer arms or legs, or are choosing between a standard and a longer size. How to Use the Size Chart
Measurement Description Height Body height in centimeters. Chest girth Chest circumference measured around the fullest part of the chest. Waist girth Waist circumference. Hips Hip circumference measured around the widest part of the hips. Inseam Inside leg length from crotch to ankle. Sleeve Sleeve length. First, choose the size according to the main girth measurements — chest, waist and hips. Then check whether the selected size matches your height, inseam and sleeve length.

S M L XLStandard sizes for men with average body proportions.
MLLonger size for taller users whose girths match size M but who need extra length.
SK MK LK XLKWider sizes for larger chest, waist or hip measurements.
XXL XXXLLarger sizes for taller users or broader body types.
If You Are Between Two Sizes
If your measurements fall between two sizes, choose according to how the gear will be used. Jackets and suits should leave enough room for base layers, while thermals should fit closer to the body without restricting movement.
- If you are choosing a jacket or suit, the larger size is usually the safer choice.
- If you are choosing thermal clothing, the fit should be close but not tight.
- If height matches one size but girths match another, prioritize girth measurements.
- If you will wear additional layers, leave more room.
Important: technical gear should not be too tight. Fabric under tension wears faster and may restrict membrane performance and freedom of movement.Recommendation Before Ordering
Before ordering a FINNTRAIL jacket, suit or thermal clothing, accurately measure your main body parameters. Take measurements while wearing a thin base layer or clothing similar to what you plan to wear under the gear.
Best result: provide your height, chest, waist and hip measurements. If possible, also include inseam and sleeve length.Summary
To choose the correct FINNTRAIL men’s jackets, suits or thermals size, the most important measurements are height, chest girth, waist girth, hips, inseam and sleeve length. A correctly selected size ensures comfort, layering ability, freedom of movement and effective protection for active use.

Membrane waterproofing and breathability
Membrane fabric is usually described using two numbers, often separated by a slash: waterproofness and breathability. The first number indicates waterproofness, the second indicates breathability.
?Waterproofing
This is a sliding scale measured in mm that shows how high a column of water you can suspend over the membrane before it starts to let moisture through.
Waterproof Rating Conditions 0–10,000 mm Light rain, dry snow, light pressure. 11,000–15,000 mm Moderate rain, average snow, light pressure. 16,000–20,000 mm Heavy rain, wet snow, some pressure. 20,000 mm+ Heavy rain, wet snow, high pressure. ?Breathability
This is the amount of moisture by weight that can pass through one square metre of fabric over a period of 24 hours. It is commonly measured in g/m²/24 hrs.
Breathability Rating Level of Breathability 0–5,000 g/m²/24 hrs Low – light exercise. 5,000–15,000 g/m²/24 hrs Medium – medium to high energy activity. 15,000 g/m²/24 hrs+ High – vigorous sustained activity.
