Nikwax TX.DIRECT SPRAY-ON 300 ml Waterproofing
A spray-on waterproofing treatment for breathable membrane clothing that restores water repellency on the outer fabric and keeps the garment breathing. Over time the outer fabric stops shedding water and the garment starts to soak up moisture, so it feels as though the membrane no longer breathes. This treatment restores water repellency (DWR) on the outer layer, while the membrane keeps out water and lets moisture escape. The spray-on version is made for garments with an inner moisture-absorbing lining, because you spray it on the outside only, so the lining keeps doing its job. It contains no PFAS or PFC, comes without aerosol (a pump), and the bottle is made from recycled plastic. It suits Gore-Tex, Sympatex, eVent and other membranes, on jackets, trousers and gloves.

When to use
Use it when water stops beading off the fabric and soaks into the surface: the outer layer then draws in moisture, the garment feels as if it no longer breathes, and it gets cold. This spray restores water repellency, while the membrane keeps out water.

How to use
Wash it first
Wash the garment with Nikwax Tech Wash to remove dirt and old care residue. The treatment works best on a clean fabric, so treat the garment while still damp.
Spray on a damp garment
Shake the bottle and spray evenly onto the clean, damp garment from about 15 cm. Cover the most worn areas especially well, the elbows and seams.
Wipe off excess and dry
After a few minutes, wipe off the excess with a damp cloth. Air-dry, or, if the care label allows, tumble-dry on low heat.

Good to know
The treatment works best on a clean, damp garment, so wash it first with Nikwax Tech Wash and treat it while still damp. It contains no PFAS or PFC, comes without aerosol (a pump), and the bottle is made from recycled plastic. The garment does not have to go in a tumble dryer, it air-dries too.

How does Spray-on differ from Wash-in?
Spray-on is applied to the outer fabric only, so it is made for garments with an inner moisture-absorbing lining, keeping the lining working as it should. Wash-in treats the whole garment in the wash and suits garments without a lining better.
