Finntrail HUGE ROLL 120L Black 1713 Dry Bag

A 120 litre dry bag: IP66 rated, it floats and survives a short submersion. The Finntrail HUGE ROLL 120L Black 1713 bag is made for gear that travels in the open: on a boat floor, on an ATV rack, on a snowmobile sled. The fabric is rubberised on both sides and the seams are welded rather than sewn, so water has nowhere to get through. Closing is simple: roll the top down, click the buckles, and the air left inside is what keeps the bag on the surface.

    Who it is for

Made for expeditions and travel on water, when your kit has to stay dry even if the bag ends up in the river.

    • •Fishing and boat trips, where spray is unavoidable.
    • •ATV and snowmobile outings.
    • •Long expeditions with a lot of equipment.

    When it shines

Best on the water and in the rain: the IP66 rating means protection from powerful jets of water, and the buoyancy gives you time to fish the bag out if it goes over the side.

    Materials & technology

    Welded seams

The seams are welded rather than sewn, so there are no needle holes for water to seep through. This is the main reason the bag holds water out.

    Fabric rubberised on both sides

Rubber on both faces protects against abrasion from a boat floor or an ATV frame, and the fabric itself does not soak up moisture.

    IP66 rating

Protection from dust and from powerful jets of water from any direction. The bag takes wave spray, rain and hosing down.

    Buoyancy

Air stays in the rolled top, so a bag that goes over the side does not sink and survives a short submersion until you pull it out.

    Roll-top closure

The top rolls down and clicks shut with buckles. There is no zipper for sand to clog or frost to ruin.

How it differs from an ordinary travel bag

    Ordinary bag

    • Sewn seams let water through
    • Sinks if it goes over the side
    • The zipper clogs with sand
    • The fabric soaks up moisture

    Finntrail HUGE ROLL 120L

    • Welded seams, IP66 rating
    • Floats and survives a short submersion
    • Roll-top closure, no zipper
    • Fabric rubberised on both sides

    Care

Wipe clean with a damp cloth, rinse caked-on mud with clean water and do not machine wash. Dry it open at room temperature. Restore the water repellency with an impregnator (Mountval Textile Shield), especially on the bottom and the seams. Do not store it folded while damp, so the material and the seams last longer.

    Frequently asked questions

    Does the bag really float?

Yes, once the top is rolled down and the buckles are closed, air stays inside. That means a bag that goes over the side floats and survives a short submersion, not that you can leave it in the water.

    What does IP66 mean?

It is protection from dust and from powerful jets of water from any direction. In practice: rain, wave spray and hosing down will not reach what is inside.

How does it differ from the EXPLORER 100L backpack?

EXPLORER is a backpack with zippers and an IP64 rating, made to be carried on the back. HUGE ROLL is a dry bag with a roll-top closure and an IP66 rating, made to be transported and to keep water out.

    Is 120 litres too much?

It is a size for an expedition or for a whole crew’s gear. If you only carry your own kit, it is worth looking at the 60 or 80 litre models, which are easier to move when full.

How do I care for it?

Wipe clean with a damp cloth, rinse mud with clean water and do not machine wash. Restore the water repellency with an impregnator (Mountval Textile Shield).
