UPF 50 for your hands
Hands burn first in the sun, because they are constantly exposed and often wet. UPF 50 fabric blocks about 98 % of ultraviolet light.
Reinforced palm areas
Reinforcement where line and fish fins rub, so the gloves last longer and your hands stay free of abrasions.

What UPF 50 means
UPF shows how much ultraviolet light the fabric blocks. UPF 50 means less than one fiftieth gets through, that is about 2 % of the radiation. For comparison, an ordinary cotton T-shirt gives roughly UPF 5, and less than that once wet. On the water this matters twice over, because reflected light off the surface adds to the direct sun.
Care
Wash at 30 °C on a gentle cycle with liquid detergent, without fabric softener. Dry flat, away from heaters and direct sun. The UV protection is a property of the fabric itself, so washing does not remove it.

No, they are thin and made for protection from the sun, not from cold. For cold weather choose membrane or insulated gloves.
How does it differ from the grey version?
Only in the shade of the colour. The material, the protection and the cut are the same.
Does the UV protection wash out?
No. In these items the protection comes from the fabric itself and its density, not from a coating, so washing does not remove it.
